Elliptic Labs makes a touchless iPad sensor

TUAW ran an article from the CES show discussing a touchless user interface for the iPad.  The article states, “Currently, the system only allows for a few simple gestures…[and] you do need to be pretty close…to the screen to operate the device.”

Can you see the potential for musicians?  We may not have time to touch a screen…but we could have time to wave a hand or wave a foot past a sensor…

The potential is great with this technology.  I partially expect Apple to buy the company and package this feature in iPad 3.  (Just kidding, but it wouldn’t surprise me one bit.  The next step to mind-control is touchless control of the device).
